Do you have receding gums?

Receding gums is a common dental problem caused by many factors from an overzealous brushing technique to periodontal disease. Receding gums also known as gingival recession, is the exposure of the roots of the teeth caused by a loss of gum tissue and/or retraction of the gingival margin from the crown of the teeth.

Symptoms of receding gums

The exposed root surface known as dentine is not as strong as the crown of the tooth as it is not covered and protected by enamel. This leads to tooth sensitivity and the uncovered areas being more prone to decay. Dentine is also darker then enamel so the margins of the teeth can appear to look stained and dirty.

Procedure
